We worked on two Victorian mansion blocks for the same client, both were very similar in construction with beam, block floors and load baring brick walls built on top of the floors. The flats were occupied above and below which will add it’s own challenges.

With head room to be kept to the maximum, UltraBeam 350 was the perfect partnership.

On the beam and block floor there was a 75mm inset timber battens which supported the floorboards, with the UltraBeams blade at 65mm it was able to fit snuggly between the floorboards allowing loads to be transferred on to the walls below.

UltraBeam 350 was able to achieve where known other propping system could.

We used RMD Slimshor and a single jack with UltraBeam’s fitted top and bottom allowing the top of the steel to be installed 65mm below the existing ceiling.

The client was extremely happy with the end result as the architect had aloud for 150mm down stand in there design to accommodate conventional needles.

On one of the walls removed they expected to use 203mm needles so the end result was much appreciated.
When designing the temporary works the Engineer found it easy to replace conventional needling with UltraBeam 350. Transferring loads on to the wall below is nothing new but with UltraBeam it was made very simple.

With the average 1800mm 37kg needle weighing 66kg and the UltraBeam at 26kg
it makes the movement of material’s significantly easier to handle especially when you are working 3 floor’s up.
